The following article refers to the decision of death according to some specific situations. In your opinion: Is that correct that somebody makes the decision to die even if the person is suffering from pain? Do you think that doing this is considered a sin? Are you the type of person who believes that God is the only one who makes the decision to die?

What is Euthanasia?
Euthanasia is the termination of a very sick person's life in order to relieve them of their suffering.
A person who undergoes euthanasia usually has an incurable condition. But there are other instances where some people want their life to be ended.
In many cases, it is carried out at the person's request but there are times when they may be too ill and the decision is made by relatives, medics or, in some instances, the courts.
The term is derived from the Greek word euthanatos which means easy death.
Euthanasia is against the law in the UK where it is illegal to help anyone kill themselves. Voluntary euthanasia or assisted suicide can lead to imprisonment of up to 14 years.
The issue has been at the centre of very heated debates for many years and is surrounded by religious, ethical and practical considerations.
The ethics of euthanasia
Euthanasia raises a number of agonising moral dilemmas:
- is it ever right to end the life of a terminally ill patient who is undergoing severe pain and suffering?
- under what circumstances can euthanasia be justifiable, if at all?
- is there a moral difference between killing someone and letting them die?
At the heart of these arguments are the different ideas that people have about the meaning and value of human existence.
Should human beings have the right to decide on issues of life and death?
There are also a number of arguments based on practical issues.
Some people think that euthanasia shouldn't be allowed, even if it was morally right, because it could be abused and used as a cover for murder.
Killing or letting die
Euthanasia can be carried out either by taking actions, including giving a lethal injection, or by not doing what is necessary to keep a person alive (such as failing to keep their feeding tube going).
'Extraordinary' medical care
It is not euthanasia if a patient dies as a result of refusing extraordinary or burdensome medical treatment.
Euthanasia and pain relief
It's not euthanasia to give a drug in order to reduce pain, even though the drug causes the patient to die sooner. This is because the doctor's intention was to relieve the pain, not to kill the patient. This argument is sometimes known as the Doctrine of Double Effect.
Mercy killing
Very often people call euthanasia 'mercy killing', perhaps thinking of it for someone who is terminally ill and suffering prolonged, unbearable pain.
Why people want euthanasia
Most people think unbearable pain is the main reason people seek euthanasia, but some surveys in the USA and the Netherlands showed that less than a third of requests for euthanasia were because of severe pain.
Terminally ill people can have their quality of life severely damaged by physical conditions such as incontinence, nausea and vomiting, breathlessness, paralysis and difficulty in swallowing.
Psychological factors that cause people to think of euthanasia include depression, fearing loss of control or dignity, feeling a burden, or dislike of being dependent.

I believe this is one of the most hard decisions that a person can made. it's not easy to see someone you love in a terminal state and connected to a machine. This methode consist in relief the pain, but you have to be absolutely positive when someone asks you about this choice. I don't think I could made this decisison to someone I love. but if that person is almost dead, she or he is only breathing trought a mchine, I have to made myself the qestion do I really want him to be alive like this? only to not caused me any more pain. am I been selfish? do I have to think in own good?. But this is defirnetly a personal decision and none should judge you for that. this is one of the most difficults dicesion because if you don't want him or she to be dead do you want him to be connected to a machine? or if don't want him or she suffering would you be so sure an apply this methode? I think these are questions that everyone should made before made any choice that has to do with this topic.
ResponderEliminarthe Euthanasia is the most difficult question and decision to everyone, just think of a person's life is in your hands is hard decision because if you love you relative that person has the disease and I do not know whether that person can recover or get out of bed, i think that could be a big election to that person because spent her o his life in a hospital in a bed must be so hard and not only that unable to make her or him own decision if dies or just lives is so sad. but the decision is up to that person and it doesn't matter if you're sad what matters is the safety of the person in a coma who can actually made a dcision for his own good. But ultimately this decision is a personal decision and the family should think the best for the family, and no one who doesn't know the difficult chice that you're making should judge you, because this is the hardest thing that can do in his life because is like killing you own blood if it is your family.
ResponderEliminarMy opinion about euthanasia
ResponderEliminarI think it is a decision of the family and patient together (if he or she can still) and it can be used if they want because the sick person is suffering a lot or his illness is terminal, but if I were in the awful duty to decide for someone important to me I would do everything possible to prevent his death. Is hard to decide what to do with a sick relative who lives by a machine, because if you disconnect him or her maybe then you would feel guilty.
I prefer to die than suffering for a long time. I don’t think God can get angry with me because the heaven is better than earth.
It may seem contradictory but I wouldn’t practice euthanasia to Gustavo Ceratti because he is one of my favorite singers and I hope that Gustavo will get better
Wow! I think that this decision would be the hardest in the life of any person, I might not imagine if i had that choise between life or death of someone that I love! but, I'm Christian and Jesus knows how to do the things and he would do a miracle in that person just to people see that He's real and that he would do any thing for us, because He Loves us and if decide to takes that person I keep thinking that will be better because he has the control of everything and there's nothing that he won't to do, all for Him is posible! So I know that will be hard, because that person won't be with me any more, but if he or she is going to be with Him in an eternity life my sadness will change to be happiness!! I just trust in Jesus, in His word and He's perfect and He will take care of everything!!
ResponderEliminarWell in my opinion, euthanasia is a decision for anyone strong enough as it is not easy to decide until the day that will live a friend or close relative. The pain is always the loss of a loved one but think a little on in the patient, putting in place perhaps understand that it is easy to carry a terminal illness and is therefore coming to the decision of euthanasia.Perhaps we decided to euthanize so it is said to be a painless death because there is no physical pain but because death comes fast but also analyzed that we are nobody to decide for the life of others, only God knows the why of things and if you have someone to give long life to manifest evicted because their piety in this person and ask that whatever ill his will.
ResponderEliminarThis is a very complicated issue, because there are too many factors related to this, such as the religion, values, respect for life, respect for individuality, the people who love and care about the ill. So in my opinion, if someone's really suffering a tremendous pain and this person is making all people around her/him suffer, and if this person decides to end with her/his life, I believe that this person has the right to do it, because we have the power to do whatever we want with our lives. I remember "Mar Adentro" movie, It's about a man who had an accident when he was young and after this tragic accident he was paraplegic. So after almost 30 years in bed, being able to move only his head he decided to start a campaign with a lawyer to fight for legalize euthanasia in Spain. He wanted to die, he didn't want to keep suffering and making his brother's life miserable, but all efforts were in vain, the court didn't allow him to die by euthanasia, so he killed himself anyway. This is a sad story but I'm sure this could happen if countries don't give the opportunity for ill people to choose between life or death.
ResponderEliminarI Believe that euthanasia is a very hard decision bud a very brave too. because is about help to someone to end his or her pain.I think is not fear that a person has to suffer, sometimes long months and years connected to a machine or unable to live fully because of some terrible disease definitely a person has to have the opportunity to decide when he want to die and when to give up on life sometimes it is about pride and dignity and how a person wants to live their last days.I believe that a person who is suffering so much as not want to live more, deserves to be heard. but also i think that not all cultures are prepared for legalize euthanasia because these situations need to be controlled and in countries like our country this could be a problem bud we have to work in that . legalize the euthanasia could be an important opportunity for people who may be going through a problem like that .
ResponderEliminarIt's kind of silly to discuss about euthanasia, in fact, the isn't much to say other than it should be absolutely legal. Us, occidentals, think of death as something completely tragic and horrible. Is not, it's just another phase of life, something necessary because nothing is forever. Funny thing is that people don't fear death itself, they fear the pain that involves dying. Euthanasia is a good exit to those pains. Persons with terminal diseases such as cancer, really old people who aren't just very happy to live, persons who are in a vegetable state, etc. should be allowed to sign a legal contract in which they give permission to a medical institution to continue with the procedure that involves this process. Forcing people to go through a long time just to end up dying or putting them through lots of pain is in fact cruelty and they should have the right to decide when to let go.
